Busy @ MICA

I've been VERY busy.

In Fall 2025, I started a year-long M.P.S. in Data Analytics and Visualization at Maryland Institute College of Art and it has been one of the most creatively demanding and rewarding things I've done in my career.

Between coursework, client work, and building something new on the side, the portfolio has been quietly growing. Here's a preview of what's coming to the site soon.

Data visualization, for real this time. My biggest project this year has been an interactive data visualization called The Otherworldly Physics of Hummingbirds, an exploration of the extreme biology of 57 birds across 8 species, from wingbeat frequencies to metabolic rates to heart rhythms. Built in Figma with an R/ggplot2 → SVG → Illustrator pipeline. It's weird and specific and I love it.

Print storytelling. I also produced How We Saved Our Hearts, a National Geographic-style magazine layout tracing the 75% decline in cardiovascular deaths from 1950 to 2023. Data journalism & print design.

A new studio. I've been building Signal & Story Studios, LLC, a studio at the intersection of data visualization, interactive storytelling, and multimedia.

More soon. This site is getting a proper update.
